Mac In A Sac – A Review by Your Boys & Mine

By on November 12, 2023

Spring has sprung however there’s still a chill in the air and the weather remains unpredictable. This makes it the perfect season for testing out the packable Mac In A Sac jacket range.

Now available here in Australia as well as New Zealand we were kindly gifted Mac In A Sac navy kids packable waterproof jacket, a khaki adults packable waterproof jacket and a black adults packable puffer vest.

While out and about in Sydney wearing our Mac In A Sac jackets, we discovered many well thought-out features. The highlight being they are all very portable. It’s amazing how small these fully functional jackets and vests fold up.

They’re easy to both put in and take out of the portable bag provided (my 11 year old can easily do this alone). This makes Mac In A Sac ideal for packing in a suitcase when travelling, popping in the car glovebox for day trips and taking on school camps where space is always an issue!

Mac In A Sac Waterproof Jacket – Features We Love

Highly waterproof & windproof

Wearing my Mac In A Sac waterproof jacket in the rain when walking our puppy I stayed completely dry underneath.

Breathable

On warmer drizzly days I haven’t overheated or sweated when out for a walk. The Mac In a Sac waterproof jacket is ideal for all seasons.

Large range of colours

We love how there’s a choice of both bold bright colours and neutral versatile colour options. I chose navy blue for my son’s waterproof jacket (which matches with all of his wardrobe) and for me I chose on-trend khaki.

We love the on-trend versatile khaki colour and zip pockets

Overall

In addition to these features, there’s a concealed adjustable hood and two front zip pockets for keys etc. The fit is true to size and I’m very happy with the quality. Mac In A Sac really have thought of everything.

Mac In A Sac Warm Puffer Vest – Features We Love

Lightweight but warm

Made with 90 percent duck down and 10 percent feather there’s no doubt this vest is thin but warm. Warm enough to wear over a long sleeved tee or thermal in Spring and Autumn. Add a layer on top during the cooler months.

Range of colours

There’s less colours to choose from compared with the waterproof jacket but still a mix of bold and more neutral options available. I’m loving my choice of black to throw on over anything.

Overall

In addition to these features the puffer vests have proven to be water repellant. The fit is true to size, there’s two zip pockets and I love the scoop back hem providing coverage when sitting down outdoors. The snug body fit allows me to wear the vest under the waterproof jacket for extra protection against the elements.

We were gifted Mac In A Sac waterproof jackets and warm puffer vest to conduct an honest product review. Our opinions are our own and we share what we believe you’ll find helpful.
